Work for the Student Life Office
The Student Life Office is currently accepting applications for the following student leader and work-study positions. The positions available are for students who qualify for the federal work study program through The Office of Financial Aid.If any of the following positions interest you, please complete the application on Titan Career Link.
SUMS Attendant
This position requires employees to maintain all equipment in the SUMS area, processing mail and assisting students with questions concerning the SUMS mail operation. Please contact Adam Hollmann at hollmaap@udmercy.edu for more information.
Student Life Office Assistant
This position requires various duties, including answering student, faculty and parent questions, filing, answering telephones, and other duties as assigned. Some responsibilities require preparing correspondence, form filing, planning events and activities. Office assistants work in all areas of the Student Life Office, reporting to the director of SLO. The positions are located in the Student Life Office.
Student Organization Assistant
This position requires various duties, including answering student, faculty and parent questions, filing, answering telephones, and other duties as assigned. Some responsibilities include creating connections between student organizations on campus, supporting the utilization of Detroit Mercy Live, and creating communications, newsletters, and other initiatives to amplify the work of organizations on campus. Organization assistants support the Student Life Office, reporting to the assistant director of SLO. The positions are located in the Student Life Office.
Student Life Office Activity Staff
This position is responsible for providing a welcoming presence in the Student Life Office, organizing games, and assisting students in the rental of games, conference rooms, and materials offered by the Student Life Office. Activity staff support the Student Life Office, reporting to the assistant director of SLO Programming. The positions are located in the Student Life Office.
Orientation Leader Positions
These positions are for spring/summer employment from May to August each summer. The position involves welcoming new students and parents to the University.
Titan Information Center Attendant (Parking and ID)
Students employed in the Titan Information Center print ID Cards and distribute Parking Permits for Employees and Students. The position also serves to provide general customer service to help answer questions for employees and students on general campus activities and information.
